Last Thursday, August 13, Seattle’s creative and technology communities came together for Show Us Your Craft—an evening built around making things, meeting new people, and seeing what happens when everyone brings their own perspective to the table.

Celebrating craft and creativity

Guests painted small squares with their own designs, each one distinct on its own and part of something bigger when assembled: a larger portrait of Grady the goat. Nearby, attendees heat-pressed a range of designs onto hats, T-shirts, and tote bags, turning the event into a working studio filled with one-of-one pieces.

Two artists also created original artwork for Gradial live during the event, giving guests a front-row view of ideas becoming finished pieces. Between the paint, presses, music, and shared tables, the best part was the mix of great conversations, easy laughs, and time spent creating together.

Gradial’s Resident DJs and Marketers

The soundtrack came courtesy of Gradial’s own resident DJs and marketers, who traded campaign plans and content calendars for the decks. Their set kept the energy moving while guests painted, pressed, talked, and made their way through the evening.

It was a fitting combination for Show Us Your Craft: creative work in every corner, powered by people who know that good ideas rarely stay inside one discipline. Sometimes the marketers are also the DJs—and sometimes the best way to bring a community together is to give everyone something to make and a great soundtrack to make it to.

What Time Back Makes Possible

For the Gradial team, the event was also a reminder of what becomes possible when operational work takes less of the day: more room for creative judgment, strategic thinking, and the experiences that bring people together.

“My perspective is that AI should enable you to squeeze as much time out of your day as possible. I spent maybe 10% of my Thursday updating content within Gradial, and 50% of it was spent on creative/strategic work. The remaining time was spent in the sun, DJing on a rooftop, surrounded by my teammates.”

Matt Nguyen, Senior Designer

“Utilizing Gradial and other AI systems ramp up the rate at which I can deliver content, which is a key part of my day-to-day life at Gradial. Triaging tasks and assigning them to capable agents frees up my time to be creative and engage in what I love doing, which happened to be DJing back-to-back for a few hours on the rooftop last Thursday!”
